Randy Steven Rodgers, 69, of Crossett, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026. He was born on May 23, 1956, in Monticello, Arkansas, and was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Crossett.
A 1974 graduate of Crossett High School, Randy went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. He built a steady and respected career at Plum Creek, that lasted for forty years, first working as an accountant for Georgia Pacific and later continuing his work with Deltic Timber.
Randy had a special place in his heart for children in need. Every Christmas, he made sure gifts were bought for children who might otherwise go without, and he often sponsored kids for church camps and other church events. He didn’t do it for recognition, he simply believed in helping others.
Outside of work, Randy loved camping, traveling, and riding his motorcycle. He enjoyed the open road and the freedom that came with it. He was the kind of man who could fix just about anything. If something was broken, folks knew Randy could figure it out. He had a practical mind and steady hands, and he didn’t mind lending either one to help someone out.
More than anything, Randy adored his grandchildren. They were his pride and joy, and he never missed an opportunity to spend time with them or brag on them. His constant sidekick, however, was his beloved Maltese, “Cash,” who went just about everywhere with him and was truly his best little companion.
He is preceded in death by his wife of forty-five years, Vanessa Goodwin Rodgers; and parents, Jimmie and Bobbie Jean Stephenson Rodgers.
He leaves behind his two daughters, Shana Marquis (Tony) of Benton, LA, and Brandi Dodson (Frank) of Crossett; one brother, Jimmie Rodgers (Aundie); and brother-in-law, Roddy Goodwin (Shirley) all of Crossett; along with five grandchildren, Ty Dodson (Parker), Lana Dodson (Colten), and Kera, Madison, and Macy Marquis along with a host of nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday, February 11th, at First Baptist Church, 701 Main St., in Crossett with Bro. Phillip Slaughter, officiating, followed by interment at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home of Crossett. Pallbearers are Dean Mangum, Tony Adcock, Robbie Toombs, Roddy Goodwin, Jeff Withers, and Matt Edwards. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Brantley, Denise Hobbs, Kami Taylor, Rachel Wooten, and Teresa Stone.
Visitation will be from 12:00-1:00 p.m., on Wednesday at the church, prior to the service.
