Reba Burnett Obituary

Reba Lois Burnett, 93, of Crossett, gained her wings on Sunday, September 6, 2020, at her home surrounded by her family.  She was born on February 20, 1927, in Longville, LA to the late William Jessie Ogden and Ida Drue Cooley Ogden.

Reba was a member of North Crossett First Baptist Church and worked as a seamstress and salesclerk for Bealls Department Store and Holland’s Fabric Store.  She was also a salesclerk at Spike’s Drug Store where she retired after 32 years of service. 

Reba had many loves in her lifetime.  Among these were sewing, cooking, collecting Hallmark ornaments, Razorback sports, traveling, and spending time with her family.  She loved holiday traditions and her famous turkey and dressing was in high demand at any gathering.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her late husband, W.C. “Bill” Burnett; one son, Clarence Burnett; two brothers, Rolland “A.J” and Russell Odgen; one sister, Betty Yates; one son-in-law, Ernest Robbins; and two grandchildren, Robbie Burnett; and Kim Walker.

Survivors include three children, Peggy Robbins of Nashville, AR, Linda Hollis of Crossett, and Eugene Burnett (Sharon) also of Crossett; one daughter-in-law, Frances Burnett of Tollesboro, KY; thirteen grandchildren, thirty-seven great-grandchildren, twenty-nine great, great-grandchildren, and one great, great, great-grandchild.  Also survived by her siblings, Artie Ogden of Crossett; Ronald Ogden (Mildred) of Macon, GA; and Molly Stanley (Eddie) of Crossett; one sister-in-law, Julia Ogden of Fort Valley, GA; along with a host of nieces and nephews; and her special friend, Hilga Neblett.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 8, at Simms Cemetery with Pastor Robin Allen, officiating.  Pallbearers are Stan White, Kevin Strunk, Jason Johnston, Rob Adkins, Scotty Fox, and Jimmy Dean Kinney.  Honorary pallbearers are Chris Adkins, Wyatt Snyder, Jesse Snyder, Doug Pearson, John Pearson, Barry Pearson, James Stanley, Shaun Rogers, Josh Robbins, and Steven Robbins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Reba’s memory to Simms Cemetery in North Crossett or Hospice Home Care of Monticello.
