Relda Sue Mitchell, 65, of Shreveport, LA, passed away on Friday, February 18, 2022, at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. She was born on August 12, 1955, to her parents, Clinton and Idola Franklin Sandidge. Relda grew up in Shreveport and was a graduate of Woodlawn High School.
Being one of five daughters, Relda learned to be outspoken, and tell people what she thought. She was a supportive wife and mom who took care of the household, even while working full-time herself. For nineteen years, she worked in the cash office at Wal-Mart in Longview, TX and helped her husband provide for their family.
Relda was an avid reader who read up to two books daily. She was also funny and although they lived in various houses throughout her marriage, the oven continued to be her nemesis. Burnt food was always due to faulty ovens, and she would never admit anything different.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clinton Buoy and Idola Marie Franklin Sandidge.
She leaves behind her husband of forty-eight years, Clayton Wayne Mitchell; two children, Lindsey McAllister (Matthew) of Longview, TX, and Christopher Wayne Mitchell of Kilgore, TX; four sisters, Elaine Bernier (Donald) of Zavalla, TX, Mary Grinnell of Longview, TX, and Vickie McCarty and Charlotte Sandidge both of Crossett; and eight grandchildren.
No services will be held at this time.
