Remona Joy (Hendrix) Hooks-Hisaw

Remona Joy Hendrix Hooks Hisaw, 91, of Crossett passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2024. She was born on September 17, 1932, to her parents Louie Gordon and Rena Belle Letlow Hendrix in Strong, Arkansas and attended the Second Baptist Church in Crossett.

Remona worked for the Georgia Pacific Plywood Credit Union as the assistant Treasurer from 1963 until 1980. She was also well known for owning and operating Remona’s Wedding Boutique of Crossett from 1983 until 1997. She loved to read, and crochet in her free time when she was able, and once known locally as an accomplished seamstress.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by three GODLY husbands; Cordell Barnett, Louis M. Hooks, and Sherrell S. Hisaw; her four brothers, Willard, Kenneth, Dewane, and Charles Hendrix; and her sister, Sylvia Selk.

She is survived by her sister, Carolyn Thomas of Maumelle, AR; her bonus children she lovingly referred to as her “precious little nieces and nephews’” and a host of other relatives and friends. She will always be remembered as a Godly woman and a loving aunt.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 in Crossett with Bro. Donald Stafford, officiating, followed in interment at Pinewood Memorial Park under the direction of Medders Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Rusty McCaughan, Brandon McCaughan, Bobby Hendrix, Marc Doss, Donnie McKenzie, and Kenneth Hendrix, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Remona's nephews, nephew-in -laws, and her Letlow cousins.

Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m., prior to the service.
