Richard Earl "Ricky" Currie Obituary

Richard Earl “Ricky” Currie, 62, of Crossett, passed away on May 10, 2024.  He was born on December 28, 1961, to his parents, Joseph and Janice Swan Currie, was a 1980 graduate of Crossett High School, and a member of the First United Methodist Church.

For ten years, Ricky worked for Georgia Pacific in the tissue mill.  He was a highly intelligent man with an amazing photographic memory who at the age of four could often be found reading the newspaper.

Ricky had a quiet, easygoing nature, with a dry wit.  He enjoyed deer hunting, watching baseball, and spending time with his family.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandmother, Maxine Swan, one brother, Ronnie Currie; and his nephew, Jake Currie.

He leaves behind two sisters, Janee McClain (Marty), and Joellen Johnson (Paul Wengler) both of Crossett; one nephew, Matt Johnson (Samantha) of Hamburg; and four nieces, Carly Ingram (Kevin) of Crossett, Mandy McClain of Dallas, TX, Nicole Courson (Justin) of Vilonia, AR, and Caty Nealey of Hot Springs, AR
