Royce Gene Oden, 77, of Crossett, passed away on, Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at the St Francis Medical Center in Monroe. He was born on May 10, 1944, in Milo, Arkansas, to his parents, Odell Franklin and Mary Lavon Ray Oden. He was a lifelong resident of Ashley County and a devoted member of Cloverdale Assembly of God Church in Crossett. Royce worked as a paper maker for Georgia Pacific until his retirement after 43 years of service.
Royce was a true gentleman who will be remembered for the intense love he had for his wife, his children, and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will also be remembered for his love to sing, play guitar, and listening to gospel music.
Along with his parents Royce is proceeded in death by two sons, Royce Gene Oden Jr., and Kevin Oden, and his brother, Garry Oden.
He leaves behind his wife, Alice Bell Oden; one son, Greg Oden (Kristen) of West Monroe, LA; two daughters, Dana Oden OBryan of Ackworth, GA, Jennie Oden, of Maynard, AR; one daughter in law, Dana Holcomb Oden of Canton, GA.; a stepdaughter, DeWanna Beard of Crossett; and stepson Troy Abraugh (Karen) of Wilmot, AR; two sisters, Pat Gibbs of Bald Knob, AR, and Kathy Duncan (Lynn) of Alexander, AR; and a sister-in-law, Betty Oden of Crossett; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 10, at the Medders Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Williams, officiating, followed by an internment at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Bob Pill, Jr., Lynn Duncan, Scott Duncan, Blake Oden, Ricky Glennon and Ronnie McDonald. Honorary Pallbearers are past co-workers at Georgia-Pacific.
In Lieu of Flowers donations may be made to the Cloverdale Assembly of God building fund.
Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
