Sandra Farrar Obituary

Sandra Orr Farrar, 80, of Crossett, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 28, 2025, surrounded by her family.  Sandra was the oldest of three daughters born to Doris and Eric Orr on February 25, 1945.

On June 15, 1962, Sandra married the love of her life, Buddy, in Crossett, AR, where they raised their two daughters together.

Sandra enjoyed staying active, playing softball and spending time outdoors.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Sandra’s greatest joy came from nurturing her family.  Sandra enjoyed cooking and hosting family and friends at her home.  She delighted in passing on her love of cooking to her daughters and grandchildren.  Her love of cooking was matched only by her passion for gardening, where she and Buddy would spend hours working together in their flower beds.

Beyond her role as a wife and mother, Sandra worked at Kinard Jewelers for twenty years.  After retirement, she was an avid volunteer at the hospital.  Sandra was outgoing and loved serving others.  She was a member of West Crossett Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed working with the youth there until her health declined.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by one sister, Pat Granger.

She leaves behind her devoted husband of 62 years, Buddy Farrar; one sister, Carol Orr Rickman of Crossett; two daughters, Lisa Pirtle (Mike) of West Monroe, LA, and Becky Roberts of Crossett; four grandchildren, Farrah (Garrett), Drew (Kristy), Lyndsey (Grant), and Lauren; along with eight great-grandchildren, Roman, Braden, Brady, Tanner, Hunter, Leightyn, Ace, and River; as well as extended family members and friends.

The family would like to thank Cindy Murphy, ARNP, and the staff of Hospice Home Care for their compassion and care.

A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 1st, at Crossroads Cemetery with Pastor Chris Sexton and Dr. Grant Bamburg officiating.  Pallbearers are Mike Pirtle, Grant Bamburg, Garrett McGrew, Roman McGrew, Chester Rosen, Drew Fox, and David Tumey.  Honorary pallbearers are the men of West Crossett Missionary Baptist Church.
