Sharon Kaye Grant, 80, of Beekman, LA, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. She was born in Oklahoma City, OK on March 14, 1944, to her parents William and Opal White Rogers.
Sharon had a sharp intellect, a witty personality, and the ability to engage in conversations on any topic. Her sassy humor and insightful observations were obvious to all who knew her. She met her best friend and soulmate in the most charming of circumstances—at a laundromat in Fordyce, Arkansas, where she playfully corrected his laundry folding techniques. This serendipitous encounter led to a beautiful marriage that lasted thirty-nine wonderful years.
A devoted homemaker and mother, Sharon was an excellent cook, and delighted in sharing delicious meals with her loved ones. Her home was always spotless and welcoming, a testament to her meticulous nature and generous heart.
She had a deep love for animals, especially her two cherished black cats. She found joy in the beauty of nature, often admiring flowers, landscaping, and the wonders of the outdoors from the comfort of her home.
Playing games was another of Sharon’s passions, bringing fun and laughter to family gatherings. Her presence was a source of warmth and joy, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one son, William “Bill” Clyde Creech.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Rex Grant; one daughter, Detra “Dee” Parker (Donnie) of Nashville, TN; and one son, David Grant (Amy) of Beekman, LA; along with a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 13th, at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in Crossett, with Bro. Kenneth Neal, officiating, followed by interment at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Aaron Powell, Cole Honeycutt, Chance Honeycutt, Randy Grant, William Sisson, and David Grant along with honorary pallbearer, Donnie Parker.
