Sheila Allen Obituary

Sheila Renee Allen, 58, of Crossett, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. Born on May 28, 1966, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, Sheila spent her early years in her hometown before moving to Crossett in 1990.

A devoted member of South Main Baptist Church, Sheila cherished her church family and was an active participant in her Sunday School Class. Her generous spirit was evident in the many ways she volunteered her time and talents, especially through her work with Operation Christmas Child and various other church activities.

For fifteen years, Sheila served as a dedicated clerk at the Ashley County Health Unit, where her caring and warm-hearted nature touched the lives of many. Known for her big heart and unwavering kindness, Sheila was always ready to lend a helping hand.

She enjoyed trips to the beach, where she could unwind and enjoy the beauty of nature, immersing herself in a great book, and studying her Bible, which brought her peace and comfort, as did the love she shared with her beloved fur babies, Sonny and Lulu. She was also a talented seamstress and a serious Green Bay Packers fan.

Above all, Sheila adored her family. She took great pride in caring for them and created a home filled with love, laughter, and warmth.

She leaves behind her husband of thirty-four years, David Allen of Crossett; one daughter, Sarah Allen of Bradford, AR; her mother, Karen Price of Texarkana, TX; her father, Phillip Allen Kinney and wife, Debbie, of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; and one brother Rick Kinney and wife, Lisa, of Prairieville, LA.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 16th, at the South Main Baptist Church, 2801 Main St, Crossett, with Pastor Brad Savage, officiating, followed by interment at Carlock Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home.  Pallbearers are Joe Allen, Ricky Williams, Jeff Harrison, Mark Greenlee, Craig Pennington, and Shane Copes.  Honorary pallbearers are Sheila’s Sunday School Class.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, at South Main Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, in Sheila’s memory.
