Shirley Mae Streeter, 84, of Crossett, passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2021, in Little Rock. On June 28, 1937, she was born to her parents, Clifford and Lorene Harris.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who always put her family first. She took on everyday with a smile.
Shirley graduated from Crossett High School in 1955. She worked in the Baton Rouge school system, and her last job was secretary of Baton Rouge Magnet High School. She later opened and operated her own business, appropriately named, "Shirley's", handling antiques, crafts, and furniture.
She enjoyed fishing, camping, quilting, canning, painting, gardening and was a highly skilled seamstress.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Franklin Streeter, and three brothers, John T. Harris, Clifford "Sonny" Harris, and Don L. Harris.
She leaves behind her husband and soulmate of sixty-five years, Cecil Streeter, Jr., of Crossett; one daughter, Kathy Sue Buono of Walker, LA; one brother, Thomas Harris of Ashdown, AR; and four grandchildren, Kristy Michelle Henson, Melissa Atkins, Rachel Byrd, and Jon Buono; along with four great-grandchildren, Kaytlen Payne, Lewis (PJ) Payne, Annabelle Henson, and Evelyn Henson; and one great-great-grandchild, Brennon Giles.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 16 at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W, Crossett with Bro. John Streeter, officiating followed by interment at Pinewood Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Cecil Streeter, Jon Buono, Lewis Payne, Ernie Thompson, Dustin Henson, John Streeter, James Coody, and Ken Boyett.
Honorary pallbearers are Steve Dodson and Thomas Harris.
Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 Tuesday prior to the service.
