Stephen “David” Byrd, 50, of Camden, formerly of Hamburg, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024. He was born on April 13, 1974, in Little Rock, Arkansas and was a 1992 graduate of Hamburg High School.
David was a skilled carpenter and roofer, as well as a talented tattoo artist. He had a passion for cooking, often bringing friends and family together over his meals. An outdoor enthusiast, David especially loved fishing, finding peace and a connection with nature.
A man of humor and authenticity, David had a knack for making people laugh while also speaking his mind. When something mattered to him, he wasn’t afraid to share his thoughts, but always with honesty and passion.
Recently, David dedicated himself to rebuilding relationships with his family, a journey of healing that showcased his strength and character. Throughout this time, his beloved dogs—Baby Girl, Zana, and Nova—provided him with unwavering comfort and companionship.
He is preceded in death by one son, Jason “Trevor” Alan Watson and his grandmother, Lula Alice Blann.
He leaves behind, his beloved special friend, Amy; four children, Chelsey Briann Byrd (Tristan Pebbles) of Camden, AR, Anneliese Furr of Shreveport, LA, Joshua Wright also of Camden, and Dakota Andrew Dylan Byrd of Stephens, AR; three stepsons, Dorian, Wyatt, and Junior; and two stepdaughters, Danielle and Tiffany; along with his parents, Levi and Sandra Kay Byrd Gray; and two sisters, Delores Cook (Buddy), and Tricia Jones (Ronnie) all of Hamburg; four grandchildren, the angel babies of his daughter Chelsey; and one nephew, Tyler Cook (Cieregan) of Liberty, FL.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 29th at 4:00 p.m. at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 400 Washington St, in Hamburg with Pastor Jared Conatser and Bro. Joey Meredith, officiating. Honorary friends are Jason Kelley, Trint Jones, and Clifton Murphy.
