Janie, Tracy and the entire family please know you are in our thoughts and prayers. Tracy you will remember me as Christie's mother and Janie you will remember me as the Lady down the street that walked with you of an afternoon and we will all remember Steve as the fantastic man he was. The one that never met a stranger and remembered you for a lifetime. Only a short time ago I saw him with his beloved grandson and his smile was priceless. May the Good Lord wrap his Loving Arms around you during this most difficult time.

I was sad to hear about Steve's passing. I was remembering the days spent out on the floral printers, and the year he had been shot, and I had broke my wrist. Boy we were a sight. We caught a lot of fish, and he taught me a lot about being a friend. You all taught me a lot about being a friend. Each and everyone of you are in my prayers and thoughts.

Sorry to hear of this. Steve was a great person to be around. I had the great pleasure to work with Steve at the mill. I'll remember the days we all use to go to Sam Rayburn fishing. I bet you he's with big Dave and Buggar an Mike Barnett talking fishing. Just think we will be with them one day enjoying what they are enjoying now. You all are in our thoughts an prayers.

Through the years I have read many obituaries. Some leave you wondering if they even knew the person that they were writing about. But these words describe Steve perfectly. I'll never forget the great memories and the laughter we shared. Perhaps most memorable was 20 years ago on the weekend leading up 9/11 when we dredged and panned for gold in Georgia. We were oblivious to the horrible events of that day until we were on our way home. Of course you cannot forget that homemade elk Jerky. That was some fine eating. My thoughts and prayers are with all that knew Steve. This world has lost a wonderful, peaceful, and caring man, but I am certain he has a special place in Heaven. Until we meet again my friend.

He was a very special guy and has been special to me his whole lifetime. Even though I was very young at the time, I kept him as a baby for my sister, Laverne, his Mom, not just babysitting but over night and sometimes two or three days at a time. He was a sweet baby, just like his Father, Julius. he grew up to be a kind, loving man. Always in my heart.

Janie, Tracy and family, love and prayers for all of you. Steve was a very unique person with lots of different interests and talents. I remember him coming into Sport About soon after we opened. He was always interested in the latest bait. He and Jim shared that interest and could talk at length about where the best fishing places were. Since retirement, I enjoyed running into him at Cash Saver. We would catch up on how each other and the family was doing. You all have wonderful memories to cherish. May God bless you. Love, Joye
