Steven McDaniel Obituary

Steve McDaniel, age 66, received his total and complete healing with his new body as he entered Heaven, his forever and eternal home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 20, 2025.

He was welcomed by many family and friends who preceded him to their eternal home as well, his father, Faben McDaniel, his mother, Mary (Hagood) McDaniel, his papaw George H. Hagood (Preacher), his mamaw, Agnes (Walser) Hagood, his Uncle and Aunt, Jamie and Virginia (Hagood) McElroy.

His loved ones he awaits for include his high school sweetheart and first and only love of his life, his wife of 47 wonderful years, Shirley McDaniel, his daughters, Tara (Keith) and Miriam (Michael) and bonus daughter, Shay (Hilarion), his grandkids, Aaliyah, Matthew, Malyki and great-grandson, his buddy, Liam, also, his cousins Rusty (Sandy and family) and Susanne (Greg and family), along with a host of other family and friends who also loved him very much.

He was employed by Georgia-Pacific Paper Products for 44 years before his retirement.

The Lord brought him and Shirley together to lift His name through song. They sang throughout their 47 years as husband and wife for many revivals and church services. Steve, along with his wife, were past co-music directors at South Main Baptist Church where Steve also served as Deacon.

There will be a Home Going Celebration scheduled for Saturday, January 25th at South Main Baptist Church with visitation at 1:00 with the celebration beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Roy Grantham and Bro. Brad Savage, officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of the church.

He is forever loved and missed by so many. He would love for you to visit his Facebook page to learn more about his Lord and Savior that he served.
