Tracy Lynn Rainey, age 50, of Crossett, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on January 26, 1974, she was the daughter of Rusty and Cheri Bourgeois Atchison and a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.
A 1992 graduate of Crossett High School, Tracy earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Her career was marked by dedication and achievement, starting with Link Investments before joining First National Bank, where she helped launch their original online banking system. For the past 23 years, Tracy excelled at Morris Transportation, serving as chairman of the Arkansas Trucking Association and contributing actively to its Accounting and Finance Committee, leaving a legacy in the industry.
Tracy had a zest for life and cherished the simple joys it offered. Whether relaxing by her pool with her beloved dog, Zoe, or cheering on her favorite football teams—the LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints—her enthusiasm was infectious. She loved cruises and her cherished trips to New Orleans, which reflected her Cajun roots. Despite her vibrant personality, Tracy valued her privacy and was known as a fiercely loyal and protective friend.
Above all, Tracy was defined by her deep love, unwavering devotion to her family, and her strong, unyielding determination, which inspired all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her infant brother, Christopher Lee Atchison, and leaves behind her husband of twelve years, Jason Rainey; and two daughters, Hannah Lynn Hopkins of Crossett, and Larson Rainey of Hamburg; along with her parents, Rusty and Cheri Atchison also of Crossett; one brother, David Scott Atchison (Amy) of Hot Springs, AR; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, January 28th, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, 2400 Main St, in Crossett, with Father Joe Friend, officiating, followed by interment at Pinewood Memorial Park under the direction of Medders Funeral Home of Crossett. Pallbearers are Mark Morris, Logan Morris, Brandon Reed, Michael Gilmore, Brian Holt, and Trent Bercegeay. Honorary pallbearers are Russ Meeks, Jeff Kelly, Devin Charpentier, JP Malloy, Chris Evans, Scott Atchison, and the CHS Class of 1992.
Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m., at the church prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society in Tracy’s memory.
