Vanita Croswell Obituary

Vanita Jaynell Edens Croswell, 69, of Crossett, died Monday, October 3, 2016, at the Life Touch Hospice Center in El Dorado.  She was born in Alleene, Arkansas on September 3, 1947, to her parents, Charles Milton and Edna Moody Edens.  She was a kind and loving soul who gave one hundred percent to her family.  She played the role as the “PTA mom” and was always there anytime her kids needed her.  Vanita’s numerous talents included cake decorating, which she won several competitions, oil painting, singing, and playing the piano, accordion, and guitar, even recording an album.  She loved music, but also collected Nancy Drew Mysteries and dolls, usually the ones that were slightly different and appeared to have character.  Over the years, she worked at several places including The Rose Inn, Tiebel’s Café, and Georgia-Pacific, but her most valued position and highest honor was being a mother and grandmother.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James “Buddy” Croswell.

She is survived by one daughter, Tamara “Tami” Jordan and husband Tommy of Crossett; two sons, Christopher Croswell and wife Tiffany of Collinston, LA, and Jason Croswell and wife Autumn of Crossett; two sisters, Brenda Chesser and husband Edgar of Crossett, and Jeanette Sawyer and husband Linsey of Maricopa, CA; one brother, Jim Edens and wife Lori of Hot Springs; seven grandchildren, Jessica Smith and husband Joe, Amber Jordan and special friend Chris Bradshaw, Cody Bays and special friend Shelby Mason, Kaci Bays, Allison Croswell, Jessie Croswell, and Lanee Croswell; two great-grandchildren, Kinley Smith and Addie Bradshaw; along with a special friend and companion, Allen Webb.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Thursday, October 6th at the Medders Funeral Home Chapel, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in Crossett, with Bishop J.W.
