Vicki Chambless Obituary

Vicki Lynn Chambless, 52, of Crossett, passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at her home.  She was born in Joliet, Illinois, on June 26, 1969, to her parents, Frank, and Wanda Dickey Asa and grew up in Genoa, Arkansas.  After marrying her best friend and soulmate, Johnny Chambless, they moved around for several years due to work and eventually made Crossett their home in 1999.

For many years Vicki worked at the Ashley County Medical Center where she made numerous friends.  However; it was working in the Crossett Ball Park concession stand that brought her the most excitement.  She loved everything about being at the ball park and she loved watching the games.  She also enjoyed watching games on television including the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Vicki was very social and if she met someone new she instantly claimed them as family and always welcomed them into her home.  She quickly jumped at every chance to hangout with friends and treasured the memories made.

Of all of Vicki’s many passions, shopping topped the list.  As many are members of the Rotary Club, various hunting clubs, the Lion’s Club, etc., Vicki’s only formal membership was to Amazon Prime.  Her compulsion could only be described as a tad excessive as the UPS driver knew her personally and even knew when she was sick.  Of course, her shopping wasn’t just limited to online, she was gracious enough not to exclude any retail establishments and especially enjoyed buying for her precious grandchildren who lovingly called her “Wella”.

Along with her father, she is proceeded in death by one sister, LaRhonda Alexander.

She leaves behind her beloved husband of thirty-five years, Johnny Chambless of Crossett; one daughter, Stephanie Kidd (Christian) of Wisner, Louisiana; three sons, Joshua and John Chambless of Crossett and Joseph Chambless (Cecelia) of Greenville, Mississippi; and her mother, Wanda Sue Asa of Texarkana, Texas; along with three brothers, Russell Sanders (Marla) and, Tracey Sanders (Traci) all of Genoa, Arkansas, and Eugene Asa (Carol) of Joliet, Illinois; one sister, Shawn Rhea (Robert) of Glenpool, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Alexis, Ethan, C.J., Raylee, Gabe, and Jonas; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 13th, at Grace Christian Fellowship, 912 S. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive in Crossett, with Bro. Chance Ray and Bro.
