Virgil Dean Cross, 72, of Crossett, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2022. He was born in DeQueen, Arkansas on January 2, 1950, to his parents, Virgil Lee and Joann Harder Cross.
For thirty-three years Virgil worked as a construction supervisor after earning his technical degree in welding. He was a stern and headstrong man, and a genuine blue-collar worker that was never afraid of hard work.
Raising cows was, most certainly, Virgil’s favorite pastime. He not only raised them but photographed them, walked with them, and talked to them, all of which he affectionately called by name. The farm was his sanctuary. A place of solace where he could talk to God and find strength when he needed it.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Lee Cross, and Joann Doss; one son, Christopher Lee Cross; and one daughter, Candice Le Cross.
He leaves behind his wife of forty-two years, Lucretia Ann Williams Cross; one son, Steven Lee Cross (Dawn) of Crossett; and one grandson, Christopher Ray Cross.
Medders Funeral Home has been entrusted with his care.
No services will be held at this time.
