Virginia Lee Turner, born August 03, 1943, to Otto and Birdie Jimmerson was welcomed by her Lord Jesus Christ on December 16, 2024.
A member of the Magnolia Baptist Church, Virginia had been a business owner and resident of Crossett since 1985. In a time when few women owned businesses, she operated and owned Sears stores in DeWitt, Monticello and Crossett and was a proud member of the Crossett Chamber of Commerce for many years.
Virginia is preceded in death by Otto and Birdie Jimmerson; her sisters Betty Howe and Brenda Hogan; and her son Steven Turner. She is survived by her nephews Jim (Teresa) Taylor of Greenwood AR, Robert (Jenny) Taylor of Raleigh NC, Tim (Angie) Hogan of Harrison TN, Johnny (Lisa) Howe of DeWitt AR, niece Deborah Riley and obviously her favorite nephew Joe (Laura) Taylor of Conway AR; along with grandson, Steven Trey Turner of Redfield AR; and Sawyer Turner, the great granddaughter that she enjoyed telling everyone about.
A fiercely independent lady, Virginia loved giving rides to all her friends to appointments and doctor visits throughout southeast Arkansas and northeast Louisiana. The family would like to thank Ashley County Sheriff Tommy Sturgeon and his deputies for their responsiveness over the last few months.
A Celebration of Life graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., at the Rolfe Chapel Cemetery on Saturday, December 21st, with Pastor Mike Griffith, officiating.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in Crossett on Saturday prior to the service.
