Tootsie Oden, 93, of Crossett, left this world on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born in Collins, Arkansas, on May 17, 1927, and was an active member of the Cloverdale Assembly of God Church until her senior years.
Tootsie taught many children in Children’s Church and Sunday School over the years along with participating in the women’s ministry. She loved being a part of the church and her church family was incredibly special to her.
Tootsie loved her church, her friends, her family, and especially, Jesus Christ.
She is survived by three children, Alice Frisby of Huttig, AR, Barbara Mays and husband, Jim, of Mt. Ida, AR, and Fredie Oden and wife, Monica, of Bastrop, LA; one sister, Clarice Caldwell and husband, Harold, of Monticello; nine grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren; and sixteen great, great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dock Oden; her mother, Jewel Dean Rowe; one son, John Tilman Oden; three sisters, Gladys Boone, Lucille Nealey, and Bernice Walters; and three grandchildren, LeAnna Frisby Markham, LaDerrell Frisby, and Christopher Lee Wilson.
A Private Graveside Service will be held at Eden Cemetery on Saturday, January 23, with Bro. Justin Uselton, officiating.
A Come and Go Viewing will be held from 10:00-12:00 p.m., Saturday at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W, Crossett.
Medders Funeral Home is complying with the CDC and the Arkansas Governor’s mandates regarding funerals and visitations and asking everyone to practice social distancing and refrain from any physical contact.
Those that are considered high risk, running fever, or have been recently exposed to someone positive with COVID-19 are encouraged to stay home to protect themselves and others.
