Wanda “Diane” McDougald, 67, of Crossett, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021, at the Forest Haven Nursing and Rehab Center in Jonesboro, Louisiana. She was born in Bastrop, Louisiana, to her parents, Ara “Buck” and Annie Ford Atkins, and for several years worked as an insurance agent for Mutual of Omaha and Ashley Life.
In her spare time, Diane was a talented songwriter and wrote several songs which she had copyrighted.
She was known by her family and friends as a woman of strong faith, and a devoted prayer warrior. She would often seek out those less fortunate to help with needs financially or spiritually if possible, and even cooked and sold food plates to help pay off the church building.
Diane was strong willed, and outspoken, but very comical and a joy to be around. She was devoted to God and her family, which she loved immensely.
She is preceded in death by her parents and four siblings, Sybil LaComb, Fannie Bell Evans, Marvin Leon Evans, and Ralph Atkins.
She is survived by her husband of forty-four years, Tommy McDougald, Jr., of Crossett; one son, Tommy Jason McDougald (Wendy); and one granddaughter, Jacie McDougald all of Jonesboro, LA; along with one brother, Fred Atkins (Brenda) of Bastrop, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Private Graveside Service will be held at Crossroads Cemetery, January 20, with Bro. Brandon Gilbreath, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ainsley's Angels of America Organization.
