Willis Doss Obituary

Willis Mark Doss, 72, of Crossett, was promoted to his heavenly home on Monday, May 10, 2021.  He was born in San Antonio, Texas, on August 12, 1948, to his parents, R.B. and Charlene Willis Doss.  After graduating from Fountain Hill High School in 1966, Willis enlisted into the United States Air Force.  He trained as a dental hygienist and soon found himself in Saigon traveling to orphanages applying his skills.  Once returning stateside, he began a career with Georgia Pacific, eventually retiring after forty-four years.

Gardening was among Willis’s many talents.  He took pride in his flower and vegetable gardens, along with decorating his home for Christmas.

At the age of twenty-three, Willis accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior, a solitary moment that not only altered his life but transformed him into a hunter of souls and fisher of men for Jesus.

In 1981, he met and married his soul mate and best friend, Delouise, and together they began the Victory Prison Ministries, which covered five states and ninety-three facilities.  They ministered to, prayed with, and led thousands of souls to Jesus.  A ministry that God has blessed for thirty years.

Willis was a wise and compassionate father to his children and grandchildren.  He was their driving instructor, their marriage officiant, and a much-respected opponent during family game night.  He was a man known for his character and integrity—a man after God’s own heart.

He is preceded in death by his parents and leaves behind his wife of thirty-nine years, Delouise Banks Doss, of Crossett; five children, Stephenie Booher and husband, Dan, of Eads, TN, Misti Prewett and husband, Philip, of El Dorado, AR, Heath Bardin and wife, Sonni, of Brandon, MS, Tracie Stanford and husband, Reid, of Grenada, MS, and Marcus Doss also of Brandon, MS; along with three brothers, Glen Doss and wife, Mary, of Menifee, CA, Dan Doss and wife, Michelle, of Round Rock, TX, and Dale Doss and wife, Sonya, of Crossett; two sisters, Tina Tyler and husband, John, of East End, AR, and Lisa Rice and husband, Randy, of Sand Springs, OK; twenty grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, May 14, at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in Crossett with Bro. Dale Doss and Bro. Reid Stanford officiating.   Honorary friends are Edward Tipton, Ronald Billings, John Richardson, and J.W. Harris.

Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00 p.m., prior to the service.
